Your data, handled responsibly
This policy explains what information Bharat EV collects, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.
1. Information we collect
When you use Bharat EV — including our franchise application, partner dashboard and contact forms — we collect information you provide directly: name, email address, mobile number, postal address, city/state, PAN/GST details, uploaded KYC documents (Aadhaar, PAN, land/property papers, bank proof, photographs) and payment references. We also collect basic technical data such as IP address and browser type for security and rate-limiting purposes.
2. How we use your information
Your information is used to (a) process and track your franchise application, (b) verify KYC documents, (c) generate invoices, receipts, agreements and certificates, (d) send transactional notifications and emails about your application, payments and documents, (e) respond to enquiries, and (f) improve our services. We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
3. Document & KYC data
Documents you upload are stored securely and are accessible only to you and authorised Bharat EV staff for verification purposes. Rejected documents may be retained temporarily for audit purposes before deletion. You may request removal of your documents by writing to contact@bharatev.in.
4. Cookies & sessions
We use a single essential session cookie to keep you signed in to the partner dashboard. If analytics is enabled, anonymised usage statistics may be collected via Google Analytics. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. Data sharing
We share data only when required to deliver our services — for example with DISCOMs and licensing authorities during electrification and compliance work (with your consent), with our banking partners for payment reconciliation, or when required by law, court order or government authority.
6. Data security
Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing. Access to admin systems is restricted and audited. While we take reasonable technical and organisational measures, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
7. Your rights
You may access and update your profile information from the dashboard at any time. You may request a copy, correction or deletion of your personal data by emailing contact@bharatev.in. We will respond within 30 days. Note that data linked to statutory records (invoices, agreements) may need to be retained as required by law.
